Not Again!
It is with great trepidation that I put this post up. I really do not want to acknowledge that this is happening.
Maleficent is sick.
I noticed a change in her stool color a little while ago. I am not one to treat right away as I prefer for things to be handled naturally. I have seen way more problems caused by treating things that animals (and people) can handle on thier own. What this change in poo did inspire was for me to watch her behavior like a hawk (sorry for the poor choice of simile). I saw my fears brought to life yesterday when she just wasn't herself. Unless you really know her you would never pick it up but she wasn't her normal explosive self. For example, there was no zipping around stealing food from others even when I gave them pasta.
I have consulted with @casportpony (the resident poo expert, is that ok to say?). Based upon her advice, I have placed Maleficent and the flock on Corid and I am going to run a specimen to the lab tonight to see what kind of parasites she might have picked up.
For those that are curious and I was, when I weighed her this morning she came in at 4.8 lbs (2.18 kgs). I thought she would be bigger. Her personality certainly is.
Hopefully, I am acting in time. I cannot bear the thought of losing her and after Patsy I am running a little scared.![]()
Mellie is my favorite.Just a quick note this morning. She is a real fighter and surprisingly strong. It is hard to give her medicine. She has also become very wary of me now.

The fighting is a good thing. I'm sure she'll forgive you once she is feeling better. I'm sure a trip into the big coop and some mealy worms will help too!![]()
Unfortunately, she only pecks disinterestedly at mealy worms right now. She runs to get them and then does not suck them down like normal. She did devour scrambled eggs yesterday so more of those may be in order.
My anxiety is off the scale right now.
I completely understand the high anxiety, hopefully she'll perk up quickly.
