This is extremely helpful. I get rose and pea combs mixed up since the majority of my chickens are single combed. I do not know what hatchery my Rural King gets their chicks from. Cinnamon Queens are supposed to be a cross between Rhode Island Reds and Rhode Island Whites. Both of those I just looked up can come in Rose Combs. So it is now possible that the chipmunks could be Rhode Island Reds or Cinnamon Queens. I swear in the future I'm hatching my own eggs or getting eggs from breeders.

It doesn’t matter. They are red which is all you need them to be!

Apparently Rhode islands have a rose comb strain.

There are Buckeyes in the RIR background, the RIR developers were sent some Buckeyes to help improve their stock, is the story anyway.

Today: Snow/Slush/ Torrential rain now I need to go down and bail out the house. The goats won’t leave the barn, the chickens are half in the coop and half hiding under everything. No one is happy. This years weather has definitely been a challenge.

Such miserable weather. What a beautiful photo though.

I have one better. Egg was laid 2 minutes before this picture was taken and she was adjusting it so she could sit on it for a minute or two.

Oh for crying out loud.

I've been epically stupid and said enzymes when I should've said probiotics

Should I go back and edit the other post? Probably.

I've really exasperated myself this time

I know why I said the wrong thing: before Mark opened Peggy up the working hypothesis was poor pancreatic function so she was on enzymes for a while. When she didn't improve he decided to take what he considered to be a drastic step and he opened her up to look inside and found FLHS. He took some xrays too. Anyway that's how I got "enzymes" stuck in my head.

Probiotics!

3/4 a teaspoon of probiotics. The brand is formulated for horses and it's called in-sideout.

Thank you, don't get too exasperated - clarification solves all! Are all probiotics the same, or do you favor a certain kind with certain things in it?

From yesterday’s walk… as decent pictures today are highly unlikely with our weather. Now offering very reasonably priced dandelion pruning. He’s like a Hoover. The only reason he left the patch was Daddy and Arduinna were getting too far ahead of us!

He is like a dandelion vacuum cleaner!

Rosie's 4-H project is due tomorrow. This year she is doing photography and like her mother put off taking her pictures to the last minute. She asked me Sunday evening for the camera. She came back in a little over a hour later and I was shocked when I downloaded them. Here are just a few she is going to use. She is titling her project Springtime in the Mountains.
