What a handsome boy! Buffs are real lookers - both the guys & the gals.
I"m sure you have lots of great memories of him!

Went out to let the Bigs out of the coop. Asphodel came out of the baby area while the bigs were still in. Before morning hunger is satisfied, won't be long before they go exploring outside. I suspect the cold is slowing that down (26F this morning is warm compared to early part of last week). they still need the heat, so not tturning them entirely loose, and Jess is using some of the rising heat to help with the incubation. it's actually supposed to break 40 today, but the wind this morning is bitterly cold. I'll go out later for pics, but need coffee first. glad we did the Easter scavenger hunt (no eggs but munchies teens enjoy) last month when the niece was home. It was mid 50s then, even with spitting a few rain drops.

Happy Easter everyone. Bunny is happily on the couch with Grandma at the kitchen table watching her lay her egg. For the foreseeable future this looks to be a permanent thing. I wonder how one day I'm going to break her from this. It is supposed to be another beautiful warm day today. Rosie has decided she is too old to find eggs although she helped a few of you younger friends in the neighborhood color eggs yesterday. She donated 4 dozen to the various kids and she swears the darker eggs they used colored up the best. This afternoon she made plans with her papaw for a Easter trail ride. Those 2 are going to run away and be back just before dinner time.

He was a very handsome boy. I have heard Orpingtons make very gentle roosters.

The sun popped out just now, hopefully the snow melts, but it's unseasonably cold at -2C, and calling for -9c tonight.

The horses are still really fuzzy with their winter coats thankfully!

Hmmm looks like I need to fix some fencing, that darn Reenie does that to the boards, she's a cribber.

Can't wait to see what the chooks have to say about the snow!!!!

I am cold just looking at that picture. My boys would not be happy if it snowed, they started dropping their coats in February. Louis and Russ still have some left and I cannot touch them without having as much hair as they do all over me. Dirt though is completely shed out.

I saved this picture for Pony Sunday. I'm upset with this one, on the camera it looks perfect, when it downloaded it is a bit blurry. Do you know how hard it can be to get Rosie to genuinely smile at a camera? And then to have Russ having both ears up not looking grumpy?

When my boys did that, I switched it to packets of microwave popcorn, bottles of Gatorade (the big multipacks), gum, trail mix, jerky, chips assortment, assorted candy bars, etc with a few unique things to find too. Finding places to hide all of that where the chickens can't get into them too is fun. It's also amazing how easy it is for a teen to walk right by a bright red/green/blue package of gum laying on top of something in plain sight and not see it. The chickens were a bit put out by the teens running all over and semi-climbing trees to get to things dangling off the ends of naked branches or laying in the crooks of the branches, or trying to knock things off branches of evergreens, or figuring out they needed to look up every downspout.....
