A "Turkey" grad (he got nicknamed Butterball as a baby cause he he got basted twice a day in an eczema battle. Got shortened to Turkey as he grew...he still answers to it, too) headed to a Tech school on a full scholarship View attachment 3129025
(Note the socks)
Congrats to Turkey. Love the nickname.

I am off to bed. Just checking in to say that I gave Dotty her worm medication. I do not think I pushed it into her lungs even though she protested loudly for several minutes after I was done. And miraculously, I still have all my fingers.
She did not reverse out of the towel wrap, she chose instead to clamp down her beak on my finger. She wasn't quite strong enough to remove said finger but it wasn't a delicate little nip either!
I made the right call to do this at night with red light - it definitely gave me an advantage!
Phew! So glad I don't have to do that again. Oh wait, I need to do it again in 10 days!
All wild water has been emptied onto the new shrubs and the only water available has therapeutic doses of amprolium.
I am now really hoping that the diarrhea disappears and Minnie feels better (though actually Minnie has been much better the last couple of days in any case).
I will report back when I see anyone deliver a normal poop!

Great news on Minnie :love :wee
Plus I'm so happy to know you still have your finger attached to your hand :D

For Pony Sunday I bring you a trip down memory lane from the times our neighbor used to let her donkeys pasture on our property.
They came four or five times but this last year they became quite a pain in her b...and she didn't have sufficient pastures for them as she got a bunch of cows. So she sold all the females first then the three remaining males. I kind of miss them ♥️.

I could never part with even one of those adorable creatures. I hope they went to a good home

Well done! Sorry I’m behind, but did someone see the vet or did you get a fecal float? I super hope the meds help!

Two negative fecal float tests (one Maggie, one Minnie). Then we did a third test with contributions from everyone over a 24 hour period. Collecting that is as fun as it sounds!
That test came back 2+ for roundworms and 1+ for coccidia cysts. I am not convinced 1+ for cocci is likely to be an issue in otherwise healthy birds, but given I had symptoms in 3 of 4 birds and one (Minnie) quite sick I decided to go ahead and treat for both.

She should feel the pain of her family being taken from her. Sorry if I sound harsh, I just am when I encounter self absorbed people that have no consideration for the animals they are supposed to care for.

Minnie looking quite perky this morning. She got up early and stuffed her face and now she is scratching. I haven’t seen her with a nice full crop in days.
I am on poop watch and so far nobody has obliged.
