I don't think Bob will mind if I chip in.

I live on sandy soil, which is quite dessicating.

Each hen has a 6 monthly checkup with an excellent avian vet who keeps his own chickens. The check up always includes a fecal float test for parasites. Their burden has never been high enough to warrant treatment.

We've had detailed discussion on my thread about it, and the conclusion was that the sandy soil dessicates many worm eggs before the hens ingest them.
I never mind when chime in. It is always enlightening, entertaining, or otherwise valuable. You are always welcome to join in. 😊

Yesterday we got the wire on the naked neck/silkie coops. Much more fresh in there now

I almost feel like it was a bit of a rescue of sorts. There were hundreds of them packed in together. This will be so different from our experience with the GGs (Gilligan Girls). These chicks are terrified of us and pile up on top of each other in the corner of the box in their efforts to get away. I hope we can get them to be comfortable and relaxed around us. We're really not that mean, you know.
Take your time. Low and slow. They will soon recognize you as the bringer of treats and fall in love with you. 🥰

I'm ordering a liquid verm-x wormer tomorrow. I would have ordered today but the site is playing up. I don't like the medicated layers but want to make sure everything is okay with the summer coming up

Is the float text difficult to do?
I posted on it here a while back. I will try and find the draft.

Rocks-Anne is gone. She left me at 4:58pm in my arms still trying to breathe even till the end.
Oh Alex I'm so sorry. I never caught up in time. You have my deepest sympathies. She had a great life and was loved to the very end. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

It's rough when they don't cooperate. Could you put some chicken wire over their entrance and make the opening only large enough for the Hooligans? Bella is pretty big if they are the same size.

The other thing to do is to direct dose the Corrid to Minnie. Let me know if you want to try that.
They have a wire barrier with small entrances to their area that in theory only they can get through. But in practice the space that excludes Minnie and the space that excludes Bella are very close in size and I may be a half inch off. Minnie was very determined to get at the Hooligans' food and drink - she was bashing against the wire and running back and forth looking for gaps in the wire wall - it was extreme enough to make me think she actually has a vitamin deficiency and therefore prefers their food. It isn't that far fetched because the worms do rob them of nutrients.
My thinking is she will have to cope for the 5 days of Corid (it is 5 days right? and then I am going to give everyone some vitamins and probiotics.

I’m too broken up to bury her this afternoon. I am going to bury her in the morning, directly under her favorite bug hunting spot. Sadly, Hen-Rietta will have to go through the mourning process (with me) :hit
That feels wise Alex. I understand and usually do the same thing. :hugs :hugs :hugs
