Here's what I was told, who knows if it's all correct. RIR, True Blue, Sapphire Gem, Rainbow. Some of these I hadn't heard of, but I thought I'd get one of each to see how they compared and if there is a standout among them. I'll label them properly in their formal introduction when they get names. I truly was not going to get new chickens until next year at the earliest, but current uncertain circumstances kind of pushed up the timetable. It also made it so that I had to take whatever breeds were available right now in my area.
These are certainly fun names for breeds. I can't wait to see them grow up!

Some of you may remember the trouble I had when the Roadrunners were small and insisted on roosting on the top of the open window.
This time around I kept the tops of the windows closed, but Lulu being true to her Roadrunner heritage gave it a go anyway.

Holy cow! Well it was a good effort! And an epic failure 😊

To me, it looks like the big girls (ladies) are looking over and wondering, "What the heck?!"

We have a problem! Jaffar is slow today now too. He spends a lot of his time laying down. That’s not normal for him. If it’s the heat (not too bad today) ? If it’s something else wrong, I’m not sure. I brought him inside with me, and he just laid down again. I’m keeping him in for the rest of the evening. Earlier, he was doing his “roostering” but he seems worn out now. I love this little guy so much, maybe I’m just being over-cautious! :old :idunno

I think that is exactly what was happening! The (now not so little) Hooligans make all sorts of racket and fuss at bed time. Sometimes I feel I can see Maggie and Diana roll their eyes at all the shenanigans!

Some lessons are learned the hard way. I still think it is not as bad as Betty's face plant on the Cluckle Hut door.
