I would, this help Agatha clear her cropHello sour crop experts. Turns out Caramel has sour crop too now. Balloon water like crop, makes belly dance movement with it just like Minnie on the video, and that yucky smell.
All nazole stuff is sold only under prescription here so that's not a possibility. I don't have coconut oil on hand and probably won't be able to get some for a few days. Should I try giving her olive oil or just massage her and forget the oil ?
I think if they drink a lot that their stools becomes loseI wormed them because they had diarrhea and a 'flock fecal' test came back positive for worms. Diana didn't have diarrhea and I wormed her anyway. She continues without diarrhea. Maggie and Dotty had diarrhea and still have diarrhea after being wormed. They seem fine with it.
Minnie however was really ill. As well as diarrhea she was lethargic, not eating and looking like she was ready to breathe her last. It was because of Minnie's condition that I pursued fecal tests that eventually showed worms (and Cocci).
After being wormed Minnie's crop stopped working (side effect of worms? or of worm treatment? or just a coincidence?) and her full crop geot yeast overgrowth ie sour crop. Minnie's crop seems to be working again (I am hoping it stays that way), and she is no longer lethargic - in fact she seems quite zippy! But she still has diarrhea.
I think if Minnie and the others stay well and the only symptom is diarrhea I will ignore it. I can try the lower protein food but I doubt it will make much difference as most of their food is forage right now.
Thank you, bgmathteach. I'm fairly resilent but I don't do sick well.![]()
I keep mine in the fridge and break off bit and put it into her beak if she doesn't take it willinglyI will do so, is it liquid coconut oil? Or solid stuff? Not sure how to administer it!
Why are you putting bicarbonate in water for them? You want to make the water less acid? bicarbonate will make it more basic. Opposite of ACV. Interesting, what is your plan with that for them?Agatha went outside for a couple of hours today and drank a heap of water with bicarb, she's nibbling away at a mix of food now. I administratored 60c of bryonia a few hours agomaybe this is helpful for her
In the water I put outside I have added this to keep out the bugs. Acv attracts the flies now I'm questioning the bicarbonateWhy are you putting bicarbonate in water for them?
