Cheetah set up to squawking...no girls calling back....investigate direction he's looking, see nothing....further investigation....behind a bush a cat bolted away (never seen before), with a squeaking critter. I think it was a ground squirrel. He called for help over a hunting critter. Earned a handful of mealworms...which he promptly used to court the girls.

I feel like the worst chook-mum ever. :hit
No you're are a million miles from the worst chicken mum. Not even close by a billion miles. You care and do your utmost to care for them . Just look at the insensitive greedy b tards that starve neglect even abuse their flocks. They are the worst humans on earth that should be near let alone have the honor of being near any animal

I've lost two this past year and I honestly feel I let Amber down dreadfully but as for Agatha, I know I couldn't possibly have saved her but managed too prolong her life by a few weeks and the majority of that time she really enjoyed, thanks too flexi ♥️
Agatha was well past two years of age when I got her, in all that time caged up with so many other chickens with no room too move already done it's damage 😞

Yes our girls can be robust but like us humans they will have their weaknesses and the same said some will be weaker than others both in the wild and domestic.

Please don't beat yourself up. I'm really sorry for your losses but you still have the other little beauties 💕 💖 :hugs

I put the blind chick and the young Guineas in Viajito's cage for the day. The were running around chirping and eating. The blind chick was standing in the bowl of wet mash eating when I left them. My friends are coming this weekend to pickup 4 of the Guineas. It's already a sauna outside so am working 20 minutes at a time then coming in to cool off. Pictures to come now that everyone is settled and fed.

Reason number at this point 1,00,000 why my smoking has increased. Had to go outside to put Lilly, Cricket and Baby who wants to be broody off the porch and back on the roost. Walk back in to find grandma in the living room. Her walker which she was using, in the kitchen. She walked off and left it and used the walls and furniture to support her.
Walls arms of chairs and furniture is much more comfortable than a stick or walker
