There is something so sad and poignant about the cries of a lost chick. Jessica is working toward cutting the babes off. They were on one side of the raised bed garden, she the other browsing on grass. They couldn't see her, were crying for her, and she wasn't responding. The joy in them when they came around the corner and saw her was pure delight. She welcomed them and the image they presented (no pics of course!) reminded me of the gangly preteen running up to mom, not quite as tall as mom, but head height close to chin/nose on mom. They came in for a brief cuddle, then went back for more breakfast.

We were off the roof at 10 but I was already drenched thanks to the 90%humidity.
I'm not going to tell you it is 68°F here today with a projected high of 74°F today. Nope not going to do that. It would just be mean.
Not adding insult to injury about the 58-63f with 68% humidity either....

It is the hardest thing to see them cut off like that. Seems like Jessica is doing it slower than Sydney did. Sydney was just done with them one day. It was amazing to see.

I love your humor Bob 🤣

It got down to about 78 last night but is climbing fast now that the sun has risen.
78 would have dreamy with what you have been dealing with. Stay safe and as cool as possible.

She's been more willing to let them mix up with everyone else too. Still defensive, depending upon who is close to them, but willing to "pretend" she doesn't know it's happening.

Thank you for reminding me - have to take my analgesic now too haha.

Reenie broke her stall guard got loose, pooped everywhere, drug out garbage and broke one of my chickies feed bowls.

And she peed on the floor, and when I let the hens out Buttercup couldn't resist having a drink

I threw down some shavings on the pee puddle ewww!

So I will have extra cleaning and fixing doors today. Will need those pain meds!
I wonder what they think tastes better horse, goat, buck goat, or people pee? I know Jimmy has been peeing on his face again… and drinking his own as well so I’m betting on Buck goat being #1 on the preference list as it appears to be a multi species acceptable beverage!
