We Have Our First Name

Interesting it is Lady Orpington who gets her name first. Here is our beauty.

Lady Featherington
Why that name you may ask?

She is already acting like royalty. For example, this morning when they needed food she looked at me as if to say, "Young man, bring me that food. I do not see the need to go down that ramp on my own."

And later when I needed to clean the nest she told me, "I do not do ramps as they are beneath my dignity. Young man, pick me up and move me next to the food again. "

Add her attitude to the fact that the breed was developed for the Queen's Jubilee and we have our first royal to reside at Fluffy Butt Acres!

For the record everyone is "young" man or woman to her.
I love this name. I have to ask, did you come by this name from the netflix series Bridgerton? If so please continue with the theme from that show.

Xzit is being fussy about what she wants to eat. I’m trying everything. I had her snack on a fish stix. She seems to prefer them. (Crazy broody lady)
I know it is frustrating trying to get them to eat. Remember though, her food consumption goes down drastically while she is sitting. You may get her to eat a few bites while on the eggs if your lucky but she's really not going to eat much at all until she is off the eggs for her break. Then she will quickly stuff herself with whatever she can find, even if it is not the healthiest and go right back to those eggs. At least you have her inside where it can be relatively cool and not out in the brutal heat. Holly and now Blueberry are broody and driving me crazy. It is not safe temperature wise to be broody right now and I'm trying to break them. It is not going well. I want to strangle Blueberry, she's toyed with the idea of being broody for almost 2 months and decides to commit to sitting during a heat wave.

I’m right there with you my friend. Xzit means everything to me. (I just wish that she had picked a better name than Xzit) but that’s the name she chose! :old :idunno

How is your lovely boy going Barb? :hugs
Thanks for asking, Lauren. Not so good. No improvement, and his appetite is starting to wane, too, now. If I hold him, he will eat about 1/2 of what he should, but if I put the dish where he can reach it (when not holding him), he will look at it, then turn his head away without so much as one bite/peck. When I took care of him this morning, I picked him up and he just laid his head against me and closed his eyes. I think he is giving up. (Not that I can blame him - it has been horrible watching him slowly decline) :hit

Hugs for you and for him.

Mrs BY Bob fooled me into it. I had forgotten but once it was done, it was done. 😆

We are off of that theme right now but I will welcome suggestions if you have Bridgerton names you think would fit

well......since you went with Lady Featherington, you really really need a Lady Whistledown. If you've watched the show you know why. And then of course you need a Lady Bridgerton, call her Bridge for short.

Nope. We dismissed the term "Dame" itself. It does not fit her.
