First Thunderstorm

The Rascals survived their first thunderstorm today.

Nice weather! Here it’s 103f and supposed to be 106f tomorrow.

I’m running out of ideas to keep the chooks cooled off. The fan in the coop only moves the air around. It doesn’t cool them down. They don’t want to come inside the house??
That air conditioner isn’t working properly anymore.

The Hooligans seem to understand real estate. They have taken possession of the entrance to the Chicken Palace.

This will help increase airflow, currently it's on hinges but I will put it on a roller track so that it doesn't take up space when I open it.

Bedtime Chatter

Adorable. I am confused about where they are sleeping. Are they staying downstairs? And not using a roost? Or is that upstairs?
By the way, they don't chatter any less at bedtime when they sound like foghorns!

Nice weather! Here it’s 103f and supposed to be 106f tomorrow.

It was in the upper 90s today before the storm. Weather has changed again back to nice weather starting tomorrow.

They are sleeping under the coop tonight. They refuse to go back there at night. I am considering letting them sleep there tonight. It's not any less safe than the coop. If it were to rain again tonight it's so warm I'm not certain it would harm them. As much as I love moving them I hate to force them to conform to my rules if I don't need to.

What to do, what to do.

The roost is not in the coop. It is in the run section. They have not yet shown an inclination to roost on anything but my hand.

That chicken wire is evil stuff to work with. A lot of swearing as it kept rolling up on me!
