It's not the Marek's. You should always quarantine anytime you add new birds to your tribe from any source. I never really had a way to do a proper quarantine before. I thought it out this time and did a proper quarantine. Fear of the bird flu brought this on. It really got me thinking about how best to keep everyone safe. While I achieved that, I forgot to think about how I would interact with them.

They are fully vaccinated against Marek's. That was solved before they got here.
Haven't heard much on the flu here since the birds settled down in one spot for nesting, and stopped spreading it around with their migration activity.

I am interested to see what happens in the Fall when they start their migration again.

Meanwhile my barn swallows have been looking ok and so do the other song birds. And the turkey vultures next door all seem fine to me.

But I am planning on keeping the gals contained in the barn again come Sept .

Thanks. I will find a way to make it work out. It's just not what I hoped for and I should have planned better.

And I'm frustrated.
I allow myself to be frustrated
/mad/sad/etc for 24hrs and then I give myself a shake and acknowledge that '&#!t' happens and sometimes (most times) you just gotta go with the flow.

You and I are fortunate as we can decompress with a visit to our pets, afterall isn't it the simple act of just watching them pecking around for a few minutes (ok sometimes hours haha) that makes us whole?

Soon your new feather friends will be out and about squabbling with the big gals 💖

Sorry, the Friday butts are all very uncooperative today. They all turned out blurry.

The hooligans would like to show everyone their exclusive new clubhouse. It offers shade to beat the heat, a roof for when it rains and hundreds of snacks if you are inclined to catch them. Where is this place? The creek bed where else. They are spending hours each day over there lately.

No adults allowed here. Unless you are Bunny and the babies, if she wants to take them there they begrudgingly share the real estate.
What an awesome location! Does it have water in it or is it dry at this time of year?

What a wonderful location to spend the hot lazy afternoons 😊
