The cameras in your run/coop, can they livestream, or do they only record to SD cards? Can they record sound?

They are live stream HD security cams. They do not record sound. They are wifi cordless cameras. I am in Phoenix AZ right now and I have been streaming the pullets back in PA to my phone today to keep an eye on them. Lol. The cameras can be started by motion but I have them set to manual for obvious reasons. Snapshots and video capture are stored in the cloud for download as I see fit.

The littles are not roosting despite the beautiful roost I put in for them. We will need to work on that when I return home.

I was gone all week on business and the littles appear to have gone feral on me. My wife was been stuck in the house due to her knee replacement and the littles have had no human contact. I went to leave them out into the big run this morning and it was total panic. I'm going to have to tame them all over again.

Lots of time with pullets........CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

It was Total Chaos Tonight.

Late in the day I let the littles out to have some grass and get some free range in. I sat down and started to relax and enjoy the chicken TV.

Everything was going fine until the big ones decided to work their around the yard to where we were. No panic on my side. I got ready to intervene if necessary but the littles have been good at avoiding the bigs.

It was then that Jabber decided to attack. Not the littles but ME. He has gotten so aggressive that I should have known better. Out of nowhere he attacked my leg as I was sitting. He startled me with the first attack but with the second attack I just grabbed him. Of course there was lots of flapping wings and all the hens, including the littles, scattered.

Once I had Jabber tucked under my arm I started to survey the situation. The big hens were off on the own and I could hear peeping coming from the big run. I moved towards the big run and thats when I saw her. Somehow Maleficent had gotten between the run and the outside fence. Here she is stuck.

I put Jabber into the coop and locked him in so I could work safely.

As you can see from the photo i applied the hardware cloth before I put the wall up. I have no access to the screws holding the hardware cloth on. What was I going to do to get her out? She had worked her way 1/2 of the way down the run. That put her around 5 feet from either end.

I went to the shed and grabbed a pair of metal shears I use to cut the hardware cloth and undid a seem that is about 3 feet up. The wire is on tight but I managed to make a big enough hole to get my arm in. I was just barely able to grab her tail feathers and slowly pulled her up. With my other hand I tucked her wings in and slipped her through the gap in the hardware cloth I had made by pulling the seem apart. She was stressed but safe. She cuddled into my lap and after a few moments another thought slipped into my head.

Aurora, where was Aurora?

I could not see her anywhere. After another few heartbeats I heard a faint peep. Come on Mellie, I said, you are going to be my Geiger Counter. Start calling to your friend.

Peep Peep and the faintly, Peep Peep in response. We slowly started working our way around the yard.

Peep, Peep, then. Peep, Peep

And the we saw her. All the way across the yard at the outside gate. We had found her and the two were reunited. All I had to do now was get them back across the yard to where their coop was. I slowly led them back until they were in range of home.

I got the big hens in the coop with Jabber and settled and then the littles went to go to bed. I could see that Mellie was trying to measure up the roost. I thought, why not and I helped her and Aurora to the roost. Here they are all roosted up for the night.

None the worse for all the adventures.

Unfortunately after a little while on the roost they decided to go into the little house for the night. A stressful day at an end. Here they are sitting looking out the door to their house.
