Sleeping In

Patsy chose to sleep in this morning. She got up around 7:30 but has shown no desire to leave the crate. I put some salmon in for her (fish is her favorite food). I am hoping she will eat. Her craw was all liquid last night.

Maybe. It is very small. I would like to get a better one. She has eaten some today. That should help.

Patsy Update

She slept on the roost last night for the first time in a long time. I was able to get good specimens because of that. Hopefully we will get some results Monday.

I have also seen her eating already this morning. She came right out of the coop today. All good signs.

Glad she’s starting to perk up some! Roosting is always a positive sign in my limited experiences... we’re all rooting for her!

First set of results are in on Patsy

It is odd to say this but unfortunately there are no parasites in her stool. That leaves us with the culture results. Hopefully they come today but having had her on amoxicillin for 7 days, it is probably not an infection. I was really hoping that it would be a parasite.

I just gave my wife the news. We will keep her comfortable. I see her as the old Queen who has stepped aside and we will make sure that she is treated well.
