Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

I loved my flock of 6! They were enough of them (all pullets) for safety in numbers, but they could also break into smaller groups. Plus individual attention is easy to give to 6 versus the 20 I have now.

My sweet Abigail laid green eggs. If she laid a heavy bloom on them they would be blue in certain light. Her "sister" EE laid a brown with white speckles egg.

I'm hoping for color with my newest EE girls. They look totally different then either Abigail or Kitty did.

I'm hoping colors come for you. Please keep us posted. Hopefully I have sucked the entire 5% brown layers for everyone here. You are all welcome!

I upped to 12 this year & that is still small & manageable but my maybe blues lay a dark brown egg so we will be trying again.

I feel your pain.

This is Ginger. With the barring on her wings I'm hopeful that she'll lay an egg of color.

Gertrude and Blanche look about the same. Gertrude was scalped at 5 weeks old so that's why she has that little Mohawk.

Thanks Bob. I love colored eggs, but my browns are just as pretty to me.

This is where it starts, i was whinning about the storm bearing down on us. Then i went to bed and there were 30 posts before i got on this morning and then i had some more posts, one imparticular is very long chock fulla the insanity i endured. Ive been thru the wringer sir.
