Is this even possible?!

Everyone, I need your help. Maleficent is about 8 months old. Is there any chance she is broody? Check out the video below.
:hmm
Her and Hattie were all out fighting over the nesting box today and Hattie lost. I went to clean the coop today and when I opened the door she screamed at me.
:rant

Mal only came out once to eat today and the video is of her in the nesting box tonight. She did not roost. This is completely unexpected.

Oh Bob! She looks determined ... I guess wait and see how long it lasts.. my BuffOrp did a sorta half brood.. then she quit.. it didn’t last too long... but when my a Silkie went broody she stayed that way for weeks.. so at about the third week I gave her the babies.. so that would’ve been time for them to hatch...

In 21 days here it will be late October and way to cold to raise chicks. My wife's first thought was, Polish chicks! I had to work the calendar to break the news to her.

I will have to let her go for a little and hope she gives up when it turns cold again. It was 90°F (32°C) today. That will change tomorrow night. My poor confused little girl.

Its okay tell the sweet wife to take comfort, she is so young now anyway, but in spring youve Gotta let her do it! I bet she would be really great to be already wanting to try it :love

I've never seen a broody hen before. Thanks for the video Bob, very educational!

I hope she goes broody for you in spring if you want to get more chicks! :)

To be broody at 8 months already, I have a feeling she will be raising a lot of chicks in her life. Unfortunately I actually live in the suburbs and cannot have a flock much larger than this. I believe I might wind up in the pullet business. My wife did have a moment where she realized that chicks means the chance of another rooster showing up. The Jabber situation was very hard on her and she does not want to go down that road again.

I honestly thought Hattie would be the first to go broody. I definately am surprised by it being my sweet Mal.

Only 3 Emerge

She's still at it. I hope we're don't have more fighting over the nest box today. I also hope the other 2 let Aurora hang with them more today. She spent a lot of time off on her own yesterday. Especially hanging around me as I worked on the deck. I won't be ot as much today, work and all.
