Bob, I’m so glad you took all three. I misunderstood and thought the third one (is that the Leghorn mix?) was coming later from a friend on this thread? I think integration will be easier with three on three. YAY!

@CrazyChookChookLady is hatching it out for me as part of her school project.

Bob, are you at work? Do you have cameras on both flocks? Wondering hoe the babies are doing snd if the others are mad. LOL!

I work from home. Lilly has calmed down. I do not have a camera on the newbies as they are all set up for predator identification. I went out at 4 pm to visit the newbies. I will post pictures after work hours.

Got it. Somehow forgot or missed that you work from home full time (except when you have work travel?) Looking forward to the pics!

The guard ravens are back! Yay! This pair has been watching over the yard for years. I have personally watched them chase off a hawk. Hadn’t seen them in awhile!

Yes I have a family of crows(not sure if a Raven is the same as a crow) that stay on or around my property and they do chase hawks away. I have seen them do it in all seasons not just when they have baby crows. I was thinking of feeding them corn so they would stay around when I get chicks in a few weeks. This will be my first time raising chickens and I worry about aerial predators as I see hawks all the time.

I discovered this discussion the other day. I've been off BYC for a while, but we recently lost one of our first ladies and wanted to find some solace :hitI started at the beginning and am only on page 175. I need a few days off to catch up! Thank you BYBob. Reading about your special girls you lost made me realize crying over my little Rosie wasn't crazy.

Aww... I’m so sorry. For what it’s worth, I’ve cried over every chicken I’ve lost.

Ravens are different, but I have seen a flock of crows chase off hawks, too. Just a heads up, crows and ravens will eat baby chicks, so there’s a danger window there until they get a little bigger.
