Yup, they love a bit of meat here to.
Watching them fight over a mouse reminds one that they're not quite so cute.:p:D
Mine like hamburger LOL. I was spending some time with them when they were young and was having a burger for Lunch and noticed they were all looking at my sandwhich. I broke off a piece and tossed it to them. Almost started a riot LOL

Here are some pics of my coop and run.. I have posted these before but thought to share again.. it has been wonderful and very safe.. nothing can or has gotten in... its extremely easy to clean the poop out from under roosts.. I have sand in there and just scoop the poop out every morning... some pics are of the first coop/run.. 12x12... then the add on.. another 12x12.. the apron is around the entire coop/run.. also, the roosting area is open to the run so they put themselves to bed and are free to come out in the morning on their own.. I also have a yard attached that I do let them in and out of... but their run is large enough if they have to stay in... food and water are always out in the run... this set up is extremely easy for me which is why I built it this way.. Whodatchick did you put anything (stone?) on top of the hardware cloth apron? or just leave it as its shown in the Pic? If it was left as shown, have you had any issues with critters trying to go under it ?

Chickens are so entertaining! Dorothy (California White pullet... the one with a personality somewhat like Margo’s that Bridge allows to roost up top) is such a character. She loves to climb under my towel. I can feel her under my legs. Today she worked her way down to my feet and dug a nest hole. Her feathers felt great on my feet!

Here she is popping out the bottom.

Afterward, she continued to throw stuff on her own back while standing.

Hahahaaa!!! I love these feathered friends.

Oops. Put in the correct video.

My cat Isabel does the blanket trick but I have never had a hen do that. that's funny. :gig

As far as walking and building a nest, Aurora does that too. She is a terrible nest builder. The others will build a nest and she will destroy it as well. I feel bad for Hattie, she builds a beautiful nest and then Aurora will come behind her and wreck it. There are 2 nesting spaces and Aurora will wreck them both!

Predator Update

No predators came by last night. Sunday night I had 2.

Is this a cat? I feel like it is but what does the group think? Watch for it along the fence line in the back.

I know that this is a cat. It walked right up to where the newbies were cooped.

Definitely a cat.
