Since last summer.. she is about a year old...
Keep an eye on her certainly but weather & stress can cause some weird eggs. I had some shockers here over summer in the worst of the heat, & again when it suddenly went cold but everyone's eggs are normal again now despite the new additions.

Lock. She's got a problem. I'm not sure if it's physical or mental.

She is a beautiful hen! Aren't you pleased to have her!

I really am pleased. She is a sweetheart and the best hope I have of the two flocks joining. She does all the right things to join the big ones.

That girl knows her food. She KNOWS when I have any food at all. Even more so than Hattie I think.

Just a doll. I'm so glad she came to live with us.

They really are lovely hens! :) My 2 keep the flock nice & stable with a little help from Luna. Suyin is a pain but her sister is a very calming influence on the whole flock.

Some examples of where observation and lack of understanding have been very evident is the egg song, dust bathing, the non link between moulting and egg laying,

Most of my girls are moulting at the moment Shad and not laying eggs. The only one I'm getting eggs from at the moment is Alice who hasn't started her moult yet. That suggests a link between moulting and egg laying to me. Of course it's not a very big sample size 😜

Have there been any actual studies linking moulting and going off the lay?
