Enjoy!Looks like it's time for a road trip, so Tuesday I'm going up the mountain and check on the property in the High Sierras. It's where I go to camp several times a year. It's 2 hours away, not too bad of a drive. But I'm going to have to lock up the chickens in the barn/coop while I'm gone.

Wow! Determined girl!The little white chickens will be the death of me! I was JUST NOW going out to take some pics of the broodies that I have banished to the new yard... and I saw no sign of Cutie.. Cochin bantam.... I searched everywhere I could think of and came to the conclusion that she must have gotten scooped up.... without a trace!? Then I go... could she POSSIBLY be back in the nest!? No way! There is only one small space over a six foot fence that she could get back in the yard... she’s tiny remember.... but what do know... that’s exactly where she was!

I'm not in favour of wing clipping. It doesn't really stop them but it does make their flight more awkward & them more vulnerable to predators. Some chickens are determined to have their freedom no matter the cost & no matter what you do to prevent them ~ short of keeping them locked up. I hope you find a solution that works for you both.
The fence is easily in range she can really fly.Phyllis, what are you doing?! Have you seen how high she can fly? Naughty girl!
