I'm not sure what you are seeing at the end of my post but the "upidt" is not showing on mine. I did not call you stupid.

When I first was reading posts this morning, I was experiencing a bit of lag (my cell service data issues) and I also saw the “.upidt” by the time I got to this post and checked back it was gone... I didn’t see the hug emojis on my first scroll through either. And none of my “likes” were showing up. I assumed a typo, but it could be connectivity related.

Nor do I ! Dont pick on me today, please. I found My hen Sunshine dead on the coop floor just now, and I'm very very very upset. Her lifeless body was still warm when I took her out of the barn/coop. So, don't expect any jokes from me today, this hurts me really bad.:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hitHer eyes were closed, so hopefully, she passed in her sleep.

@featherhead007 so sorry for your loss
:hugs:hugs:hugs
I am sure she had a wonderful life and passed peacefully overnight. With a name like Sunshine she was certainly a special girl and greatly loved. That’s what matters most in the end.

But now, my Canadian friend, she's gone and I have a hole in my heart, where Sunshine used to fill. I'm glad I have you to understand. Thank you

Do you really want to hear it? She would sit on my hip and watch Animal Planet with me for hours, just to be with me. Sunshine was an exceptional bird, and a part of my heart.
Of course I do, but only if you want to share. Did she have a favorite show or animal?

Thanks Kris. I find that disturbing. :hmm

Some Photos from the Weekend

I did not see the ladies at all yesterday so here are a couple of pictures from the weekend.

Lilly having some watermelon.

Phyllis continues to be underfoot but for a while she helped Mrs BY Bob with the laundry.

I had some friends come and groom themselves on Mrs BY Bob's chair while I was reading.

One thing I can't figure out and that makes me sort of melancholy is when Aurora hops up on the footstool in front of me. Aurora has never permitted herself to be touched, even when she came new to us as a 6 week old. I could not get near her. Her sister Maleficent was the complete opposite. As you all know she loved just hanging out with me. I could touch her anytime I wanted. I always felt that Aurora only hung out with me because she wanted to be with Mal.

So my question, why come anywhere within touching distance of me willingly and hang out on my footstool? Especially when there is no snack to be gained? All I can figure is that somewhere in her mind there is a happy memory of doing this with Mal.

Or maybe Bob, she enjoys your companionship. She might not enjoy being touched, but she does like company

probably just a glitch, not necessarily on BYC’s end. :) I’ve also occasionally encountered the (whatever it is) code-type inset thingie for some of the animated emojis :hugsespecially when my internet speed is lagging (less than a week ‘til my data reset!)

Like when I copy and paste a quote to add it in edit mode (because you can’t “insert quote” without putting it in a new comment and copy and pasting it when editing your post) because I forgot to put the quote in for the post I was initially responding to and it’s needed to make sense!

Sort of shown here in the screenshot, but it shows up normally in the post unless I accidentally change it while editing... then I get a half random seeming comment.

See? deleting the s on hugs gives the shrugging emoji. I’m sure more computer friendly people than I am probably understand why all this happens, I just know sometimes I get the wrong emoji, which can turn out awkward.
BTW: post heavily edited due to trying to demonstrate the weirdness :D

Wow. I never realized that. Thanks

Temperature Swing

It’s cool here for May. The girls are sort if sitting around waiting for sunshine, while I have blue fingertips and a heater at my feet! However, we’re expecting at least a 20°F upward swing by Monday or Tuesday. These quick temperature changes always worry me a bit fir the girls.

I’m also pulling Millie from the box a few times a day to eat, drink, poop and stretch. I keep forgetting to check her crop first thing in the morning, though. She seems to be eating, drinking, pooping and preening just fine.

Howdy Y'All!!!

Sorry I've been gone so long, but I really don't like BYC on my phone. Anyways, I am back to work full time again. This is our first week of seeing patients. So far so good. All is well on the family front.

Sadly one of my lavender orp chicks died. It wasn't growing. The 3 left are THRIVING!! They are growing like weeds. I'm almost positive that I have 2 females and 1 male. I'm totally ok with that, I'm thinking I'll build them their own little breeding coop. The girls are Rose and Lily, Rose has the most feathers. Oakley is the boy, he's finally starting to grow some, I was really worried I'd lose this one too.

The 4 chicks I hatched in Anna's classroom are 3 months old now. Diamond is definitely a boy and I'm still pretty sure Sunny is too.

Our new neighbor moved in and she is the sweetest lady. Her husband passed away in August. Her daughter and family live in Perry County, so they bought a house for her to move into so she is closer to them. They entire family is wonderful!! They love the dogs, cats, and chickens!

My flocks get to free range (supervised) again!! I'm so excited!!!

That's all on my end!! I hope everyone has been well here!! I should be around much more again.
