I got paid this morning!
First wages in two months.
The vehicles are back in action having had their tanks filled and the visitor center for the park is going to be displaying local arts and crafts (I've got a spot) to try and help offset the lack of fairs.
The chickens have already put in their order for walnuts.

Day 8: Smoking Hot!

Sydney waited until after lunch today to come out and she took a long time off the nest today.

Way longer than ever before.

By a lot.

She was off the nest over 2 hours today. Of course the ambient temperature was 88°F (31°C). She did not seem concerned. The eggs however.....

Did I mention the new Broody Cam has sound?

I was able to break from work for a quick visit with Mom to be.

Yall... a bird got eaten right here in my backyard! Of course this happens when I left for one hour ... I am constantly in and out the back with the chickens, parakeets, or fish.. doing whatever... and I had just put the babies up thank goodness cuz I had them in this little cage on the grass for awhile... poor things would have been traumatized! The only thing I could think it would be is a crow.. I’m wondering if the bird was down eating the seeds I throw out and got caught there..? It’s a little unsettling...
