Yall... a bird got eaten right here in my backyard! Of course this happens when I left for one hour  ... I am constantly in and out the back with the chickens, parakeets, or fish.. doing whatever... and I had just put the babies up thank goodness cuz I had them in this little cage on the grass for awhile... poor things would have been traumatized! The only thing I could think it would be is a crow.. I’m wondering if the bird was down eating the seeds I throw out and got caught there..? It’s a little unsettling... How about pigeon or a dove? Those feathers look a little grey to me.

That is frightening. 😨 You need to keep a serious watch on your ladies.

It very well could be... there are always doves coming to eat the seeds... do yall think a crow is capable? I do.. they are so large and I saw one in the trees... so that’s why I was thinking a crow... but a crow wouldn’t mess with a chicken... right?

Crows are a chickens best friend. They drive the hawks off. Crows and hawks are mortal enemies. A crow will eat a chick but never a full grown chicken.

Something tells me I may have planted my chicken seeds too close together!

I hope the vibrant red of Stanley's comb stands out to every one, it's stunning on my end.

The best thing about the kids being here is a very tired Rex!!! As soon as they go to bed Rex is passed out on the floor.
