Well, I don’t want to hog Bob’s thread with my woe’s, but now Dorothy is having issues! We know she has egg shell making issues and likely poor genetics, but the timing is terrible. This poor sweetheart.

And Jaffar is back in with me, again tonight! Waiting on the porch for me to get him. Why can't he just use the coop like all the others?I get it. A nice cool spot.
Because you have trained him to love being with you. Poor fellow. He knows your big coop is more comfortable than his now. And you are there too.And Jaffar is back in with me, again tonight! Waiting on the porch for me to get him. Why can;t he just use the coop like all the others?![]()
Poor Dorothy. She is beautiful. I love white hens.Well, I don’t want to hog Bob’s thread with my woe’s, but now Dorothy is having issues! We know she has egg shell making issues and likely poor genetics, but the timing is terrible. This poor sweetheart.

Yeah, when I see your posts on Daisy, the greatest hen ever, they remind me of Dorothy. She’s actually a California White, 3/4 Leghorn, 1/4 Barred Rock, but her personality is all Leghorn and she’s tiny... much smaller than my late Margo (Brown Leghorn).Poor Dorothy. She is beautiful. I love white hens.
Sometimes everything seems to come in bunches. Stay strong for them.![]()

Bob, Since I had him, the only night Jaffar ever spent in the coop, was the same night he contracted fly strike. I haven't let him sleep on the coop floor since. He can't fly up where the other birds perch. He's just not built that way. And I confess, I like that Feathered alarm clock!I guess!![]()
