Trapped!

I missed it but Mr. Squirrel got himself chased into the big run yesterday. The only reason I noticed is that Hattie came running out of the far end of the big run squawking that "something that doesn't belong is in the run" squawk.

Lilly stands at the exit watching Mr. Squirrel as he tries to desperately find another exit. She then moves off as if bored but I don't think Mr. Squirrel believed her. I think he was worried that she was faking him out. He did eventually get out the same door Hattie used after she moved off.
I think they were expecting him to drop to the ground outside.

BTW, whatever happened to Mr. Groundhog? Did you already tell us and I missed it?

Ned greeted me outside this morning when I let the dogs out. He doesn't go far at all and I have to admit he does a great job of eating all the bugs. I had just missed a shot of him snacking on a cricket.

His accomplice is also out...

This is Vicki. Her full name is Vicki with the hicki. When she was a pullet she had a single black tipped feather on her neck. She was the only one I could tell apart.

Little did I know she'd become a Cougar and lead Ned astray!!:lau

She's going through her first big molt, so I'm ok with her getting some extra bugs for added protein. She also sticks close to the coop and the rest of the flock that listens! While I don't like to have my flock loose when I'm not home, these 2 stick together and never leave the yard. I also have several generations of crows living in my pine trees surrounding my property so I don't often get hawks. Rich and I will tighten up the fencing this weekend and put an end to their adventures.

Do you know where these two rapscallions are escaping? I feel better knowing Ned is with her. I am sure that he would protect her. It is interesting that Lucky has stayed home.

Vicki with the Hicki sounds like the kind of lady that would lead a young man astray. Just saying. 🤣
