Yup, cockerels are a pain. They can't help it.
I've been lucky in having senior roosters from the outset. You just can't explain how much difference this makes. While the cockerels are still quite young the senior roosters let the hens look after themselves. I don't know exactly what age the cockersl are when the senior roosters start to intevene.
My Pippi is only a year old, but I've been calling him a rooster for several months. He is really the best rooster I've ever met. He takes really good care of his hens, and isn't aggressive with them at all. Sweet, indeed. :love Mad Hatter is just frustrated with being second fiddle, but he does okay. Louie Louie needs his own run for a while. He is beautiful. Hope he grows out of the crazy phase.

Someone is Taking Over my Spot

I did not go out Sunday morning and sit with the ladies. My mother was coming over that afternoon and deep cleaning of the house must occur before her arrival. At one point I looked longingly out the window and fortunately for the flock, someone was willing to assume my roll.

Love Aurora!

Oh goodness. The Little Princesses are sleeping squished up between Maggie and Elizabeth!
I can’t imagine anyone is actually happy with that arrangement!

Hahahaaa! That’s just too much! They have that lovely giant roost and do that. And this is why I love chickens so much. They like what they like.
