You know what? My flock is like that right now, too. I chalk it up to molting and being off lay. They will be cuddle loves again.Is it possible that chickens can fall out of love with me? I don't seem to get the same responses, that I used to get? No interest in lap sitting, and the hens seem more stand offish than usual. It feels like, they don't want to be touched. (But they still eat from my hand)

Same here. I don’t buy chicken and only eat it if it will go to waste otherwise. I can’t bear that.I’ve stopped eating chicken (mostly), it just feels wrong. Hubby (who is vegetarian) says “It’s not like it’s anyone you know!”

Any change to the flock will affect the flock dynamics and therefore flock behaviour. Hopefully with time they will get used to this new normal.
