I would never have thought that it would be like this. When I first started it this thread it moved 1 page every 2 days. That was with me writing 1/2 page long posts! Today alone was almost 10 pages. Amazing!

I am so grateful for all of you. I hope the volume does not drive anyone away. I love the conversation with everyone. The stories of everyone's flocks make me excited to start and end my day here.

As I have said previously, you had me at 'Fluffy Butt'. :hugs I love these threads and feel like I have become part of a community.

I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet (see below), but this cockerel could be named Emile!

We had storms go through here Oct 7th, and from the 8th to the 17th our internet was really sketchy to zilch. Now I am sooo far behind with this thread. How could you guys put on 93 PAGES in a week??? Gaahhhhhh
I agree Emile would work!

Jays usually will mob and harass a hawk, and drive it away. So maybe the chickens were taking their cue from the Jays, whether they actually saw what transpired before the ruckus or not. I noticed my Buckeyes take note whenever the crows are calling their mob call. They get very alert and still.
Good point!

They are beautiful! 🥰

I have always wondered, do they have issues with the feasted legs getting dirty? Do you ever have to clean the legs for them?
My Brahma can clean her feathered feet ok, but the feathers hide foot issues. I think she has a weird, deformed mini toe and she had a little cyst or something. OH! And once she bled a LOT from the roost... like blood everywhere. I think it was a broken feather.

I wanted to give y'all proof that Ned does hang with the flock and is not chased off.🙂

I was also able to get a picture of Goldie and Lucky spending time together.

Since "wild water" is so much better then fresh water, I installed one in the layers run. I got a few pictures of Stanley and his girls. Everyone has such lovely feathers again!
