I know this happened months ago, but I'm still catching up. I am sooo sorry you lost your precious Maleficent. I know you are heartbroken. We just lost our Raven to a sudden death. She had a seizure and was gone. That was what brought me back to your group here- I needed chicken therapy. We too are devastated. We'll be cremating her this afternoon.

Rest in Peace Raven.

I'd be sayin: Git him! Git him! LOL. But I saw a Rat almost at size run right past my girls when Birds were dropping them seed to eat. I suspect thay will not be effective Rodent killers.

btw, I have a Rusty just like yours - a great daily layer. I fear the day already their reproductive systems have trouble...so sorry it happened at your Coop. My Goldie is also sweet RiR - lowest on the Pecking Order, and a daily layer. Sold on Reds!

Just spent some quality time outside after seeing a pack of Harris’s hawks stalking the chickens in the yard! Got the girls back into the coop. They’re not going to like how long they’re in there, but that was too close.

Wow. Our Red Tails do not like to be that close to each other. They are really solo hunters.

I did and he found it funny he did add that he has never seen a turkey back down to a chickens and I can second that !! what's even funnier is watching a chicken chest bump a turkey
