You have the best chicken stories! It’s the way you tell them, I think, that cracks me up!
Thank you. I love to tell stories. I am truly glad you enjoy them for that is kind of the original point of all this. It has indeed grown beyond all expectations to something more but the title does say, "stories of our flock" for a reason.

Phyllis on the High Wire

I guess I just can't scare her off. 🥰 Phyllis was back to visit me as I sat outside in between rain showers for about 10 minutes. 🙄

This time she reprised her high wire act in front of the Rose of Sharon bush.

Yesterday I entered Aurora in the fall photo contest. Today I thought I would enter one or two of Phyllis. Which does everyone like best?

Thanks Shad. I need to be less frustrated with them. They are being themselves. They are not trying to drive me nuts. It has nothing to do with me.
Well, maybe it does a little! I think they probably pick up your various emotions more than you realize.

I like them all, so I guess I'm not any help 🙄

I am sure that occurs but when they are beating each other up at roost time and have not seen me since 9 am, I'm pretty sure that's not about me.

There are times I would swear they know my emotions, the one time Lilly jumped in my lap for example, the many times that Maleficent came to visit me, and I think we all grieved Patsy together.

Oh my, I am so sorry for your loss. :hugs :hugs

Sometimes we just lose them all too soon. :hugs:hugs

I wish I had better chicken therapy for you. Please feel free to join us in the here and now.
Thank you. It is just nice to read about others’ flocks and know this is a place they’re loved and valued for just being chickens. They’re so smart and fun. Raven was our most curious and adventurous of the flock. She loved my 14 year old. They had a very special bond - from the time she was just a few days old she would run to Rebecca. She was the 1st named. She was special. (They all are special in their own way though)
