I think I missed something. You are building a new coop?
I love all kinds of building (and renovating) so do keep the pictures coming!
Yep, I've been thinking about it for months and posted the first pic a couple of days ago here (I think it was here anyway...).

I wanted a longer roosting coop where Tsuki couldn't reach the door from a perch and peck everyone that comes through. Hopefully this will work. :fl

Ooooh ByBob, how is your coop building article coming along?

Hubby has been pondering what I want and we started our new coop today. We are recycling bits of wood and ply left over from building the shed and the frame of our old water bed. We needed to buy new stuff for the coop's frame unfortunately.

It will be raised up on legs for ease of cleaning and to discourage rodents etc. This will be the floor.

You are Tsuki proofing and I am trying to Aurora proof. What a pain these hens are. :barnie

I think We Will Just Stay Inside

The coop door opened today and no one ran out.

For whatever reason, the coop is getting a lot more use this winter than ever before. It is always warmer in the coop than outside in the winter. The sun warms it well.

You can see Sydney and Hattie enjoying the indoor sun around mid day. .

It is cold and windy out there - who can blame them for wanting to stay indoors?!
