I don't know chickens very well, is Minnie a Buckeye? Or a related breed? How old is she? I see the side wattles starting on my pullets now (five months old).

Yes, she’s a Buckeye and she’s about 18.5 months old.

Success! I built a new perch for Jaffar (A short leg friendly one) so now he has a much more comfortable place to sleep nights. I’m so glad he’s feeling better.

Most of them will be retirees (I hope) so I'm thinkingof 3-4 layers in a larger flock of old girls.
