I like your remarks. Since I have trouble keeping up with this one thread and everything else I have going on, plus the pandemic and politics, my first reaction to "what's happened" was "Since when?"

I just discovered something today; seemingly clean and innocent fluffy butts can hide yucky feathers underneath! Just finished snipping back butt feathers by lamplight but some of that poo is caked on right up to the skin... I see chook baths in the not-too-distant future... Not sure what Charlie is going to think of that!

Everytime I bath Bok to get her butt clean (she has been sleeping in the nesting box until I put pine shavings in there now she’s roosting again though, yay!)I’ll towel dry her then she runs off and dust baths so it ends up dirty again
I’ve just gone out, wrapped her middle with a towel and snipped off the offending fluff. Poor thing looks a bit strange now, half fluff butt

I tried to name my flock using the first letter of their breed and a name from their country of origin...I love Ophelia too!

Our Australorps were named similarly
They were A and B until we were a little more sure they were both hens, then we looked up "traditional" Australian names and found Alinta and Brenna
