I have rearranged the coop cams so I can watch roosting on both roosts tonight. I looked at Minnie this morning and didn't see anything wrong but I need to examine her again in better light. She is sooooo soft!
The one weird thing is that I went out before light this morning because I wanted to refill their water before I get cut off by the snow again today. While I was outside I heard what I thought were the foxes shouting - sounds like a human shriek, then silence, then a shriek. And then I realized it was Minnie! I didn't have a camera on her so I don't know if she was awake or asleep. It stopped as soon as I came in and she was up and perky and came down for a snack as soon as I turned the light on. WTH? Nightmares?

Boy I hope someone else has heard that. I have never. @Shadrach @Kris5902 @Ribh anyone else had a shrieking chicken at night on the roost?

That is a lovely shot of her - she is very pretty.
Snow has started in earnest here. I have pulled up my board walk. Forecast downgraded to 6" so I can put the boards back down on top of fresh snow tonight.

After I woke everyone up before dawn they went back to roost and had a preening party and a nap. This time Minnie went with the group. And against the theory she is in pain she chose to fly up at the highest point rather than use the ladder or the tree stump either of which are less effort.

Minnie’s preferred night-time roost is a popular day spot.
Here we have Maggie and Elizabeth hanging out with both road runners on the branch at right angles.

I used to love that show as a kid! I showed my son an episode a year or two ago and he wasn’t interested. I had to agree; it really dragged!

The original 1980's episodes are the best. It has been redone in the 90's and then a movie made, but they pale in comparison to the original.
