I guess whatever arguments the Princesses were having have been put aside. Could they possibly squish up any tighter?!
I also cannot get over how much the road-runners can fluff themselves up. Dotty on the left and Minnie on the right. I promise they are not that fat!

Does that make you happy? They certainly seem to like each other tonight.

Late Night Snacking

Hattie is snacking again at night. About 4.5 hours after going to bed.

A quick drink and the to sleep on the floor. One problem, when you try to wipe your beak dry in straw....

So I didn’t catch up on the thread. I actually spent time WITH the chickens today. I got lots of poop out of the coop. We had lots of snuggles. I tended to the wet grass hay pile of DH’s. He keeps buying GIANT bales of grass hay for two tiny bunnies and then leaving it out in the rain. Does anyone know how heavy wet grass hay is??? Also this time around, instead of relocating it one wet pitchfork full at a time, I mixed it with leaves and chicken litter! I’ve been tending to it three weekends in a row now, in hopes it will not be a danger to the chickens (mold) and be useful in the garden in a couple months. There is no longer any slime on the hay.
Today they kept finding these white bits that looked like cheese. They were crazy for it! I finally realized it seemed like wood pellets that had gone moldy? Maybe? Fingers crossed my flock is not poisoned with microtoxins.

I did get a couple pics today.
