I used to get flogged every day, sometimes mutiple times. I only need to wear one pair of trousers now.:hmm:D
I've only been hurt once and that was from a telling off peck by Major many years ago.
When I was a teenager working on my uncles farm I used to have a wicker shield to block the floggings from the roosters when I collected their hens eggs.
It took many months before I could dodge my way around most of the roosters.
Only one went for me every day until I left. He went for everyone and got most of them.
When we collected eggs for our grandmother, she always reminded us to be careful for the rooster..and how to get into the hen house..as we called it way back when. We waited for him to be on the other side from the door, then we would run into the door and slam it shut. One day my younger sister came in crying with bloody legs. That rooster was dinner the next day. 🙁

The season here starts with morels and ends with my favorite chanterelles in the fall :) I haven't been mushroom hunting the last few years, but it is a favorite activity and a big business around here. Oyster, lobter, turkey tail, lions mane, truffles...

So many mushrooms, all this rain has to be good for something!
I love mushrooms. All kinds. Yummy! 🤤

I find it very hard to believe our forecasts are so different. Are you up in elevation?
No. Elevation according to Google Earth is 250’.
Maybe forecast is wrong.
Very odd.
Chicken tax.
