That's going to be great Alex! Your littles will love it! :)
I don’t think that they know, just how much work it is to build a coop that meets my standards of perfection (SOP)
Doesn’t matter. I’m building it for my lovely pets anyways. I just need them to wander into the big coop, so that I can continue building. The new coop, is going where the green tarps are at the moment. And a whole new run will extend out much further than it is currently.

It definitely takes a lot of hard work to build anything...trust me I know...my husband and I have a very high SOP too!
I'm looking forward to seeing the progress and the finished product...it sounds like it will be nice and roomy! :)

My original barn/coop is 18ft by 12ft by 14ft to the roof. I built that one also. It’s the one here I’m sitting in at the moment. Only little Coco, has ventured inside so far. Such an inquisitive Barred Rock she is.

I wish my coop was larger, we built it for our flock of Banty's over 20 years ago. We used left over material from when we built our house. It's large enough for everyone too roost in with room for more (insert chicken math :D ) we did an expansion of the run...it has the original enclosed pen that opens up to a very large free range pen!

And just for kicks, here’s Mille. She squats when I say her name. I thought that was cute, so recorded it for you. This is after I had already approached her to try to get a fluffy butt photo.

Also, here is today’s offering:

Of note are Dorothy’s white egg (it took several days of calcium to see that shell) and the larger light brown egg toward the bottom. Not sure whose that is. Maybe Ester?
Not a single hen has ever crouched when I approach.
