I love the name Ruffles! She is such a beauty!
I LOOOOOVE your chicken decorations! Where did you get them from?!Here is a better picture of the decorations but it is not such a good picture as there are no real chickens to be seen.

Awww! I just saw your reply! The chickens in my backyard definitely kept me busy this past year! They are an entertaining bunch!I loved seeing the wild chickens in Hawaii, but really, REALLY love that your yard is home base to some of them! Amazing!
Yep. We lost the 2 we started with but the man really likes them so we are trying again. They seem to be doing ok this time round.Wait... you have four Vorwerks now? (Did I spell that right?)
This is very interesting. I know in my backyard, comb size has nothing to do with pecking order! Chickadee has the smallest comb, but she is the boss of the yardComb Size
I just read the following sentence in the comb article from 2016 that is featured on the front page. It was kind of a throw away line but it caught my attention. Here it is:
"Usually, birds with the larger combs will be higher in the pecking order rank."
Does anyone believe that comb size has anything to do with pecking order? I am very curious and I am going to try and see if there is any actual research on this when I have a moment (I will add it to my long list of half started projects).
I am seriously asking everyone to look at their tribes and if you know their pecking order, compare it to their comb sizes. I would seriously like to know what you uncover.
I'm having trouble describing their personalities. I don't have any other birds quite like these. They are calm & adventurous & very, very curious. They aren't pushy or mean but aren't easily pushed around either.Beautiful birds! I’m really fond of these. How are their personalities?
What was that like. This is a true story, I was there and I witnessed it...![]()
That is a special treat. My Hattie tries to claim all apple cores as hers. Most of the others give up pretty quick. "Fine Hattie. If you want it that bad"My ladies got a special treat today, the rest of a mango! Mango is Alintas very favorite.View attachment 2594899
I think she could ship them to you successfully. It does occur frequently these days.I gave a friend 7 eggs. She bought an incubator for her kids. All 7 eggs are showing veins! I'm excited to see what they look like!
If I lived closer I would take you up on this offer! Your pair are so beautiful!![]()
Welcome to the Fluffy Butt Acres thread! Don’t get left behind!Whoa! I've been gone a week & there's over 80 pages that I need to get caught up on!![]()
My mum had it as a photo printed from the web, so it will be a bit grainy. I’ll look for it.
