This will have to do. I had to extend the ramp. I like the ramp bar closing system because there are no half measures with it. You can't shut the coop without the bar securing the ramps.
The ramp folds so there is no way to climb to the coop while it is shut unless the legs are used. This does make it more difficult for anything trying to gain access through the doors.
Both rmap sections open gives just enough room to be able to reach to the back of the coop for cleaning and broody retrieval.
I have under roof vents of all this style of coop. Vents back and front. I will fix in a louvred vent at floor level later. The ramp/doors give more ventilation. I try roughly to provide one tenth of the floor area of ventilation for winter and on the bigger coops, the summer human access door is about 50% mesh.
The bank at the right of the picture prevents the worst of direct wind into the coop. Mostly the wind blows at the back of the coop.
Don't know exactly what the cost is. The coop was re purposed from the ducks. There is only Jenny and Solomon left now and they have enough space in their coop. The legs are dug into the ground which hopefully means the sheep and donkeys wont knock the coop over.
Not sure yet what Cillin thinks about it. For the last couple of nights he's come to the house and I've taken him to his new home. I'll 'encourage' him to go to the coop on his own over the next few days.
