I went to a local poultry show this morning. And no, I wasn’t tempted into buying more chooks! ;) There were some tatty rescue ISAs but I just couldn’t go there. There was a trio of Cochins and a trio of Pekins that I briefly thought about, but I deliberately didn’t set up my quarantine area so I wouldn’t be tempted. I’m not in the right headspace for new girls at the moment.

But I took lots of photos. There was even a Vorwerks breeding trio!

They sure wanted you to know that was a leghorn! :gig

Wonderful photos. So many cool looking birds. 🥰 Thanks for taking the time to post all those photos. That was fun!

I put a new water bowl out near the garage back door where I sit with them. Belle has gone nuts and drank so much water today that she’s was just pretty much passing water in the afternoon 😔
She seems fine in all other ways, eating, scratching, running around and finding her way onto our undercover area no matter how many obstacles I’ve put there to keep them out. (Why do chickens love sleeping on doormats so much?! Haha)

I’m thinking of worming tomorrow because they didn’t touch the last lot. Took their water out in the late afternoon once they were back in their run just incase. Have also made some sugar syrup up to add to the Kilverm water solution to make it a bit more palatable.

Anything else I should be concerned about with her drinking so much?

She’s about 25 weeks, not laying yet, and as I said, her other behaviours seem normal.

When it rains it pours!

Was it warm today? My chooks gorge on water when its hot. That does cause nearly water poops, but they've always returned to normal the next day.

Thanks Marie. I have been known to repeat myself.
Please don't read me wrong.

I meant it's important everyone learns that information. I was in a real panic when my 5 month girl had a long grass down her throat. I'm tired and may have worded that post wrongly. It constantly needs to be repeated for people new to chickens :th
