Horrible nasty medicine. I would scream at Alex if he had accepted it.Good for you! I think that stuff can be addicting. I’ve never taken it. DH gets VIOLENTLY ill on prescription pain meds, Codeine specifically, so won’t take it again nor try any others, either. Is that an opioid?
I add it to their feed or their main meal about twice a week. Was it coconut oil many of you use for an impacted crop?
Might as well stock the first aid kit with it for the future...
I washed them with a vinegar and saltwater then they have a little oil on their bottys.I cleaned two butts with a hose and bar shampoo today. It’s a start.
On that same note, the avian vet said hen illnesses are almost always caused by E.Coli ascending from the vent. I might become a neurotic butt cleaner.
Thank You all so much! I lost a chicken Monday to bad vent prolapse, and really didn't want to lose my new ones too.
You should separate her from the others.Queenie is tooting - wheezing a note - when she breathes (the out-breath I think) and when her head is upright. It's quiet when her head is down, pecking or eating. I've heard a couple of quick squeaks like a cough too. If she runs she's tooting and sort of growly breathing the other way until she catches her breath. She was quiet this morning, we came back from a walk and I heard it. She doesn't feel hot or look off color, shall I bring her inside and look down her throat? Of course I'm thinking some parasite in her airway, or a lung infection. I haven't yet got a poo sample. Need to stalk her for that....

Love our valley! Thank you.THAT’S your view!?!? Amazing!!!
What fencing system are you using? I've ordered a starter electric fence and am considering a similar "inside fence" for them. I've also got some 2" knotted netting coming to experiment with rigging up aerial protection. Finally! Grass has started growing and I rigged up a little area the Princesses could hang out in and destroy the new grass.
It isn’t yet very big and it doesn’t have shrubs to hide under, but they had fun and it allowed me to test out the temporary fencing I am planning on using when I plant the chicken garden. It seemed to work fine and I will do an outer electric one to keep the foxes away.

The poo doesn't look bad but I can see it was very wet, how damp the chips are around it.Both sets of poop look pretty good to me.
