Love it, Bob. What a find!A Treat from the Vault
This video is from 2016. I found this in an old email today as I cleaned out my email box. I had no idea I even took this. It is the Big 3, Daisy, the greatest hen ever, Patsy, and Lilly dustbathing in the original run extension with the prefab coop in the background. There is no sound and it is 4 min long but watch for a while. They were such a great tribe.
Bob, I use a long, slow process, too. I let their behavior guide me.You introduce them as a group. But I never put them in confined space with the bigs without socializing them together in the yard, free ranging, first. Sometimes for weeks before combining them. For me it seems to be a much longer process than everyone else goes through.![]()
I really like this shot!
Wonderful video and advice.I'm a very sorry to hear this. We all need some joy in our lives.
Perhaps some assistance with caring for your husband would help. I'm not saying have someone else take on his care but rather someone to give you a break so you can find something that brings joy back into your life so that you have a love of being alive.
There are counselors that can assist with this. I believe here they can be found through the State Department of Aging and they are free. I would hope that your state would as well. Here is their mandate in our state.
The Pennsylvania Caregiver Support Program works to ease the stresses of caregiving by focusing on the well-being of the caregiver. The program provides the primary caregiver with reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs associated with caregiving, such as respite, caregiving-related services and supplies. The program also offers education, training, counseling, and more.
I hope that this helps. I am worried for you. My mother lost the will to live many times through her journey with C diff. Yet we got her through it and this is how she spent her Easter. She will tell you the fight was worth it in the end but it is so hard to see that when you are in the middle of it.
Ugh. I’m sorry. How do you know he took BLU?I found out who took BLU. he arrived today at my gate drunk and wanted to fight me. (Big mistake) I cuffed him with zip tie, and he's off to jail. I'm pressing full charges. It won't bring BLU back but cowards do stupid things, especially drunk ones!![]()
That’s great! If you’re looking for something rewarding that does not involve getting dirty, crochet and quilting are nice.Aww...so cute. I'm so happy for her. My son and daughter in law tell me I need a new hobby/interest. I know I do. Will think if something. My husband is on hospice now. Not for end of life soon, but he's eligible for it and I'm thankful for it! If I want, they have volunteer sitters! And, respite! That means they have a place they can take him for overnight, or even a few. I haven't wanted to use it yet, maybe when I start feeling better I'll want to go somewhere, especially since the covid is more under control. Thanks Bob, again, so happy for your cute mom!
Why are these silly girls all wet?Fight. Two ladies at the spar to fight over @featherhead007 yummy boy. So who will win, that is the question
