Thank you. Initially she did not want to come out of the coop this morning. She had her face in the corner and did not want to use the chair I brought in. I took the chair back out, but felt bad that I might have discouraged her from coming down. A bit later when I was letting them out to free range, I called from the kitchen door “who let the birds out?! “ to the tune of who let the dogs out, which I do often. I also said “Ruby, do you wanna come out?” And “Ruby, come on out!” By the time I got to the chicken gate, Ruby was there with the crowd ready to come out. Ruby walked around the yard a bit, and spent a good deal of time under the oak tree by herself in a shady spot in the leaves digging and digging and digging. I hope she found some good bugs in there. Now it’s really warming up, and she has moved to the cool spot under my neighbor’s tree where a lot of them like to hang out on hot days. I’m glad she got some foraging in before it got too warm. Smart girl!It sounds like she is enjoying herself still, which is lovely to hear.
I hope the weather continues to be nice for your long weekend so you all can spend as much time together as possible.![]()
