Wonderful news! It’s still dark out here, but I just snuck out to the barn/coop with a flashlight (torch to you UK people) to check on Jaffar. He’s alive, and no sign of breathing problems. I’m sorry that I might have woken him, but I had to know that he is okay. He is!![]()
No worries. It was funny.I’m sorry I picked on Bob. (It’s just that he rarely makes mistakes, or type o’s)![]()
"To" or "too"? Just saying.....I'm pretty perfect on that front to![]()
OMG, Bob. I’m so impatient. I have six plants setting fruit (mostly cherries) and can’t wait for that first hint of color! It's so exciting to see them start.![]()

Cool! I remember my uncle doing that when we were kids. I don’t recall if you ever got an avocado tree out of it. If I think of it, I’ll ask him!I am trying to sprout avocado pits.

So far it’s only two weeks. I’m waiting. And I have five more pits to set up.
Wow! Were they great horned owls?I had dueling owls outside my window last night. They were very close to the house. I could hear them getting closer and closer to the house. I was starting to get a little worried, even thought everyone was in their coops.
After listening to them for about 15 minutes Ned started crowing. Thunder joined him and the owls started to move further away. Within about 5 minutes I could no longer hear them and the boys were quiet again.
Wonderful update! Yes, she may always have a limp. Millie has had a limp since she was a pullet. I never knew what the injury was, but she’s super cute when she skip runs across the yard.Look who is feeling better enough that she is back to roosting at night. 2nd night she's got up on the roost herself. This morning when I turned the hooligans loose she was still on the roost so I got her down myself. She may want to roost, but I'm still worried the jolt of hopping down on her own will be too much for her. She's also been free ranging all day now for the past week, she is sticking to area's that are safe and if she needs to can get under cover easily. Her limp is improved but it is still there. I think from here on out she will always have a bit of a limp.
