I monitor temperature in the summer and temperature and humidity in the winter. Humidity is a frostbite maker in the winter. Mine are wireless and I can monitor the coop from in the house. I got them on Amazon.
I do that too - so far coop has been a degree or two cooler than outside - I think because of the shade of the big Tulip tree.

This is what’s up with Lucky:
I see what you are talking about. She definitely does not feel well. I hope the antibiotics do the trick for you. 🤞 I think it is a good assumption on your part.

I will also say that Hattie had a day like this this spring that turned out to be just an off day. She was back to her old self shortly. Remember how I was chasing her looking for a poop? 💩

Aww, poor Maggie! How’s she doing now?
Definitely still has a limp but you have to watch really carefully for it.
I am about to feed scrambled egg with calcium pills sprinkled in because someone is laying very brittle-shelled eggs in spite of being on layer feed and having free access to both oyster shell and egg shells.
I will see how she is running because she loves scrambled egg does Maggie!

I had a health scare today. I was feeling “weird” while working on a junk pile from the garage. Then I noticed my heart was working WAY too hard. It was POUNDING and going double time. This has happened before, but resting for a few minutes took care if it. Not this time. It lasted well over half an hour and I was very light headed. Heart was pounding so hard my body would rock just slightly when I was laying down.

I was dehydrated and had an extra espresso shot in my coffee. I am pretty sensitive to caffeine (combo if adrenaline and caffeine makes me visibly tremble).

I crawled down the hall and told my husband how to make me some electrolytes. Eventually my heart calmed down, but I was super exhausted afterward. I need to take better care of myself.

YES - take better care of yourself. Goodness - hydration is not to be messed with!

I have had issues when working outside in high temperatures by not drinking enough. Those symptoms seem very familiar. The August I jackhammered the holes for the perimeter fence every day was in the upper 90s. I did not drink enough several times. It's a scary feeling. I'm glad you are OK. Please be more careful.

Who else is wondering why this thread is so popular?
As others have said, it is because @BY Bob fosters a really kind and welcoming environment and we have all become friends and enjoy a sort of large virtual flock (tribe) of chickens that spans the world.
We mainly talk about chickens and we appreciate and share LOTS of photos of our chickens.
But most of all we are all very chatty (about chickens).
