I entered that photo a year ago. I thought once you were not chosen for that week you were done. I think this might have been @Shadrach favorite from that photo shoot. Look how lightly colored she was last year.
Same here. Someone had to let me know. It was an EE that got it. Those two are beauties Bob!Congratulations!!! When one of my photo's was chosen I think back in early February I'd forgotten about it as it had been over 7 months since I'd had entered it.
My gosh I have never seen that before! That's amazing! Ginger is now more Marilyn.![]()
Nice. Are they in a kids wagon nestbox setup, or where? I can't remember if it is you that repurposed a red wagon for a nestbox. They naturally congregate there?Remembered it was Mugs Monday a little late this evening so I went out and got pictures of Clover's chicks. She let go of them in the last week and is back to laying again. I lucked out with this group, 7 chicks, only 1 boy. The grumpy looking blue chick is the keeper. My dad still doesn't know about the Blue Marans showing up but has claimed that one for himself as he loves her coloring.

Yes, that is a old kids wagon that was originally going to be turned into a flower garden. Then in the early spring when I had about 6 new laying hens all fighting over the same nest box I turned it into a nest area. Both Bunny and Clover liked it so much that they decided it was the perfect place to go broody. Bunny after about a week was able to be convinced to move her chicks to the old dog house but Clover would have none of it. I had to put a old blue tote in front of it and that is where they stayed. Now that clover has weaned them and back to sleeping on the roosts they have started sleeping in the nest boxes. They are fine right now but going to start teaching them where to roost soon. After I convince Bunnie's 2 remaining chicks plus the 3 grow out pullets that they have to stay on the roost at night. It's bad enough convincing 5 to stay in one spot all night, that I'm not ready to add 7 more to the mix. Clover could have taught them where to roost, but no. Darn hen went from these are mine, don't touch them they stay under me to, ok your on your own literally overnight.Nice. Are they in a kids wagon nestbox setup, or where? I'm so happy that the cockerel fairy essentially passed you by this time! They are super cute.Remembered it was Mugs Monday a little late this evening so I went out and got pictures of Clover's chicks. She let go of them in the last week and is back to laying again.
