She is a lovely young lady. ❤I wanted to share this pic of Dakota with you peeps today. She’s really growing up.
And she’s going to be a beautiful RIR sooner than I thought. (From orphan, to oh, wow) View attachment 2751639
Thank you, I think so too!She is a lovely young lady. ❤
She's Phyllis. She will do what she pleases! (Oh no, another Beetov-Hen)!Looks Like Phyllis is Done
It is 10:20. She has not returned to the nest.
It looked like she tried to go back and Hattie would not let her in the coop. She stood on the porch for a while waiting for Hattie to let her in but it seems she may have now given up.
She is now on the deck with everyone else. She could get back on the nest if she wanted to do so.

I was thinking about this too, I know a few of you feed spinach in particular. As an iguana owner it is something I have to be aware of, although there is more too it then that with them, particularly a correct balance of calcium vs potassium. Broccoli, kale, spinach, cabbage etc are all foods that are to be fed sparingly. They are obviously not the same animals, but they have many similarities...A thought on calcium & foraging
Could oxalic acid in leaves like dandelions work against calcium absorption? Just thinking in terms of human nutrition, that used to be an issue at least (as in spinach has calcium, but the presence of oxalic acid counteracts absorption, so hard to say how much calcium is really getting in?)
When Rosie is broody she doesn't even care if she has eggs or not, she will swap nest boxes to try and keep me from messing with her. Alinta always went back to her bush nest, even though we moved her to the coop at night. She is in the prime nest box. I really need to move her from that box. No one is going to like her being in that box. Will she go along with a move if I take eggs with her?
That could be an issue.A personal matter I haven't addressed yet. my renter on Jeanette'View attachment 2751760s old property (Now my property) hasn't paid his rent yet, and I'm getting a little concerned.
