I am sitting here wondering if there is anyone who doesn’t chicken in their PJs - they do get up early in the morning and don’t like to be kept waiting!

I do chicken in my PJs. The girls don’t care what I’m wearing, they just want to be let out, the sooner the better.

I need to step away everyone. It's been too much.

Eve is here to see the chicks. So I am going to take advantage of that and spend the weekend concentrating on her.

I will likely be back on Sunday night.

I have not been on my computer lately, so I just spent almost an hour catching up on this thread. What a roller coaster of events and emotions! I am so sad for you and Mrs. BYBob.
I can’t believe how this venture (ordering chicks by mail) turned into such a disaster. But you did everything humanly possible to help them survive. Three days in the US Mail was too hard on them.
Please don’t blame yourself, or feel guilty. You fought for them.

Ok, while we’re supporting each other in Bob’s absence, I just wanted to share I’m feeling an incredible amount of remorse, regret and guilt for not trying harder with Dorothy. I don’t mean the day she got sick; I mean before that. She was laying soft eggs for a long time and I stopped trying to help since it didn’t seem to be working. Could have put her on hormones. Ugh. Poor, poor Dorothy with the lousy genetics, if that was her problem.

It is easy to feel guilt in hindsight. You have to remember that you made decisions about how to proceed using the information you had at hand at that time. Don’t beat yourself up over what you might have done instead. Just remember the good care you gave your hen at the time.

I’m here waiting for my rooster to crow. Again i awoke earlier than Mr. Jaffar (best rooster and friend I ever had lately) he’s a runner up to my award winning rooster BEN. I love this paradise retirement. I have my beautiful chickens and a rooster willing to babysit when I’m gone somewhere. When I say “somewhere “ I mean anywhere. .. cool, he just crowed! I will be taking my eagle (Cessna SkyHawk) to New Mexico on my birthday Wednesday. Flight plan has been approved! Yay

I’m here waiting for my rooster to crow. Again i awoke earlier than Mr. Jaffar (best rooster and friend I ever had lately) he’s a runner up to my award winning rooster BEN. I love this paradise retirement. I have my beautiful chickens and a rooster willing to babysit when I’m gone somewhere. When I say “somewhere “ I mean anywhere. .. cool, he just crowed! Honestly my friends, I thought by now in my life I would be piloting a jet aircraft . A Learjet. I failed myself and my dreams. For by now, I’ll fly my beautiful eagle Cessna. Anybody have a million dollars I could borrow, to buy a Lear? Didn’t think so.

I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only one who goes out in my pajamas to tend to my chooks. Who has time to get dressed when there's chickens wanting attention?!

Let them out this morning in jammies.....before coffee. HOWEVER , it was perking so I was maximizing the use of my time.
