Maybe she'll finish it first! It is really great. I want to see a chicken with a pupil though. Or maybe it's like an old masters study, a picture not finished...
I noticed the lack of eyeball. Picasso wasn’t recognized till after his death. I wanted to jump on a good thing as I saw it.

Hi, folks. Quick update… Ruby continues to get stronger, but it still could not get on the roost herself as of last night. I will keep helping her up. I’m still kicking myself for not tubing sooner. I’m just grateful it seems to be helping her now. Thursday I have a board meeting, so I will put a carrier in the coop in case she’d like to cozy up in there if she can’t get up to the roost. Today was opening day at the school district and we surprised the staff with a flashmob dance! It was hilarious! Unfortunately, I have been in tachycardia for almost 6 hours. It’s making me quite tired and I’m starting to get a bit dizzy and lightheaded. I really don’t want to go to the ER tonight. I’ve never had it last this long, and I’m not sure if I’ll need some sort of intervention to stop it. It usually only lasts about a half an hour.

Those eyes! :love :love
Does she always have long toenails like that? I never thought about toe nail clipping before for chickens - I need to go inspect mine!
Interesting that you noticed that about the toenail. I missed it. However, Ruby has one just like that… And it’s on her broken tail. I noticed in this picture, the toe is also twisted kind of funny. I think if the tip of the toenail doesn’t touch the ground, they don’t get worn down.

Oh I forgot to mention, before my sister tested positive Saturday morning I rehomed Henrietta's 6 babies. I found the perfect home for them as they not only went to a Facebook friend, but a family member who has stalked my chickens for a while now. We need to discuss Drummie's behavior. He is a sweetheart, and that is going to get him in trouble. Every dang time someone has came to pickup chicks its the same routine with him. He walks right up to these strangers and becomes a total ham and insists on chest rubs. This has left several stunned at just how friendly a rooster can be. It also leads to the next inevitable question, "is he available?" Nope he is not going anywhere, although this has led just about everyone who has only came for pullets to take a cockerel son of his in hopes to get another Drumstick. This also worries me though as I wonder if this "I love everybody" attitude puts him in danger of being stolen. Sometimes I feel like I need to put him under lock and key for his own good. I am happy to say though that all but one person has stayed in contact with me after purchasing chicks and everyone who has taken a Drumstick son has gotten back to me on how lovable those boys are becoming. It does make me proud that Drummie is passing on his temperament to his sons and creating more rooster loving people. We need more of them in this world.
Awww… I love that Drummie is passing on his good genes!

I was ready to ship them all to freezer camp this morning. This constant egg laying Marco Polo has to stop. I almost picked Lilly up and separated her just to shut them up. I do not need the neighbors complaining about the noise. Not mention the fact that yesterday Lilly full on crowed at me in the morning. Maybe I will just zip tie their beaks shut every night and cut them loose after the eggs are laid. I'm telling you it is too darn much.
Aw, Bob. I am sorry if you are in a funk. Hugs, my friend. ❤️ :hugs
