Tentatively feeling better this morning. Expecting another 100°+ day today, only dropped below 70 just before sunrise I think. Sun has a bit of an orange cast to it, so there is some smoke out there too, not surprising since there is pretty much a fire every few miles everywhere east of here

And I just spent an hour cleaning after discovering my kitchen garbage can lid was covered in maggots pretty much my least favorite creepy crawly, though the chickens were briefly happy when I tossed it out to them.

Well, folks… Ruby continues to respond well to tubing. However, her hormones have already returned and she’s quite swollen. I’ll likely have her euthanized soon, as she did not tolerate the last two drainings very well and I don’t think I’ll put her through that again. As of today, she seems happy with good body language and vocalizations, but I’m bracing myself.
